Public transport system

In the “Tri-City” of Gdansk, Sopot and Gdynia there is an extensive public transport network, consisting of trains, trams and buses, and of course taxis. The main national railway operator is PKP. There is also a local train network called SKM. It is the most convenient form of transport around Tri-City. In addition, ZTM Gdansk provides bus and tram transport in the city. The logos of these companies are as follows:

PKP tickets can be bought at railway stations and checkouts with the PKP logo. SKM tickets can be bought at every stop from the ticket machines and at a number of newsagents that have the SKM logo on the door. ZTM tickets, valid for both bus and tram, can be bought at newsagents and kiosks. There are also ticket machines at some bus and tram stops. It is possible to buy a ticket from the bus/tram driver, but these tickets are a bit more expensive and you need to have small change.
