Crime Fiction Here and There was a bi-annual academic conference held at the University of Gdansk, Poland in 2012, 2014 and 2016. The aim of the conference was to provide a forum for lively discussion and critical debate concerning all manifestations of crime fiction. The main focus was on studying crime fiction across national borders, across time periods, across languages, across genres and across boundaries between the literature and the other arts (film, theatre, graphic novel etc.)  All three conferences had a truly international character with delegates from all over the world. Selected papers from the first two conferences were included in two post-conference volumes (See Publications)

This website has also been a point of contact for scholars, writers and crime fiction enthusiasts and features information about publications, conferences and other events which might be of interest to anyone reading, studying and writing about crime fiction.

We aim to provide an interdisciplinary forum for lively discussion and critical debate concerning all manifestations of the Gothic mode, be it historical or as manifested in more modern and contemporary cultural events. We also seek to establish an internet-based community of Gothic scholars and enthusiasts, and to serve as a platform for the dissemination of information relevant to our mutual Gothic interests. In addition to news about the various Gothic programmes and events at Stirling, the site provides information about exciting new developments in Gothic studies – See more at: http://www.gothic.stir.ac.uk/about/#sthash.FO18DkAL.dpuf
